Key Responsibilities:1. Fit & Pattern Evaluation Conduct fit sessions to assess silhouette, proportion, and size accuracy across size sets. Review and analyse patterns to ensure alignment with the approved fit and design intent. Recommend pattern and construction modifications based on fit results and buyercomments.2. Pattern Grading & Production Support Review grading rules and ensure proportional accuracy across all sizes. Coordinate with vendors to address grading-related concerns impacting fit or production. Support production teams by validating size sets and graded patterns before bulk execution.3. Vendor Communication & Technical Coordination Communicate directly with vendors to explain fit, construction, and pattern requirements. Provide technical inputs and ensure corrections are implemented accurately and promptly. Collaborate with QA and merchandising teams to maintain consistency in technicalstandards.4. Sample Development & Fittings Oversee proto, size set, and pre-production samples to ensure correct execution and timelydelivery. Document and track fit comments and approvals systematically for internal and vendorreference.5. Fabric, Trim & Construction Review Evaluate fabric stretch, shrinkage, and handling properties during fittings. Recommend suitable trims, interlinings, and finishing techniques to enhance productperformance. Monitor workmanship, seam construction, and finishing quality during development andbulk stages.6. Infant Wear Testing & Compliance
Ensure understanding and adherence to infant and kidswear testing standards (e.g., colorfastness, dimensional stability, nickel-free trims, small parts testing, AQL standards, etc.). Work with QA and testing teams to validate that all infant wear products meet safety andregulatory compliance. Guide vendors on suitable fabric, trims,
Required Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of pattern making, grading, and garment construction. Hands-on experience with fit correction and pattern modification. Ability to interpret buyer tech packs, measurement specs, and safety requirements. Good understanding of infant and children’s product testing protocols and compliancerequirements. Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical requirements to vendors. Analytical and detail-oriented approach with strong sense of fit and proportion. Proficient in pattern software (Lectra, Gerber, or equivalent). Ability to multitask and manage multiple styles and timelines efficiently.
Qualification & Experience: Diploma/Degree in Fashion Technology / Garment Technology or equivalent. 5–8 years of experience in garment fitting, pattern evaluation, and technical development(preferably in export or buying house setup). Prior experience in infant or kidswear will be a strong advantage. Exposure to both woven and knit product categories preferred.
