Summary:
We are looking for a Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation Development Software Engineer with 9+ years of overall experience and strong hands-on expertise in Discrete Event Simulation (DES), manufacturing simulation, digital manufacturing, industrial engineering, automation, and Industry 4.0. The candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, testing, and maintaining simulation models using Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation and SimTalk for manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and intralogistics applications. The role involves translating business and manufacturing requirements into simulation models, developing reusable modelling components, performing capacity, throughput, bottleneck, material-flow, resource utilization, and optimization studies, and integrating simulation models with manufacturing and enterprise systems. The candidate will work closely with business users, simulation engineers, and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, validate models, deliver high-quality simulation solutions, and support PoCs and client demonstrations.
Role and Responsibilities:
Develop, enhance, test, and maintain Discrete Event Simulation models using Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation and SimTalk.
Translate manufacturing and business requirements into simulation models, process logic, objects, parameters, and simulation scenarios.
Develop detailed models for manufacturing plants, production lines, assembly operations, warehouses, intralogistics, and material-flow systems.
Model manufacturing processes including BIW, paint, trim & final assembly, EV/battery manufacturing, buffers, sequencing, downtime, rework, and quality constraints.
Develop simulation logic for AGVs/AMRs, conveyors, forklifts, tugger trains, ASRS, warehouse automation, and material-handling systems.
Develop and maintain custom objects, class libraries, reusable components, templates, and parameterized simulation models.
Implement SimTalk scripts and simulation logic for process control, material flow, resource allocation, routing, sequencing, and system behaviour.
Perform capacity, throughput, bottleneck, line balancing, WIP, cycle-time, resource utilization, and OEE-related analysis using simulation models.
Configure and execute experiments, what-if scenarios, sensitivity analysis, and simulation optimization studies.
Perform model verification and validation (V&V) using historical data, process information, stakeholder feedback, and defined acceptance criteria.
Analyse simulation results and generate reports, dashboards, visualizations, and actionable recommendations.
Integrate simulation models with MES, WMS, ERP, IoT, Digital Twin, and other manufacturing data sources where required.
Develop data interfaces and support data preparation, mapping, transformation, and validation for simulation models.
Troubleshoot and resolve model logic, performance, data, integration, and simulation execution issues.
Perform code and model reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, performance, and adherence to modelling standards.
Maintain technical documentation, model specifications, test cases, validation results, and user guides.
Conduct unit testing, functional testing, regression testing, and performance testing of simulation models and components.
Collaborate with functional teams, manufacturing engineers, data engineers, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
Support PoCs, feasibility studies, technical demonstrations, workshops, and simulation model deployments.
Mentor junior simulation developers on Plant Simulation, SimTalk, modelling practices, debugging, and development standards.
Contribute to the development of reusable simulation frameworks, accelerators, libraries, coding standards, and best practices.
