Technology Modernization Strategy and Roadmap
Lead enterprise-wide technology modernization strategy engagements across complex technology landscapes
Define modernization ambition, strategic intent and business-aligned technology modernization priorities
Assess current-state technology estates across applications, platforms, architecture, integration, data, infrastructure and vendor ecosystems
Identify modernization opportunities, technical debt, architecture constraints, platform gaps, business risks and value pools
Shape target-state architecture and reference technology stack aligned to business priorities and enterprise architecture direction
Define modernization guiding principles, decision & prioritization frameworks to support consistent technology choices
Advice on vendor, platform and ecosystem strategy, including fitment of cloud platforms, enterprise platforms, integration platforms and modernization partners
Build multi-year modernization roadmaps sequenced by business value, technical dependencies, cost, risk, complexity and readiness
Develop modernization value cases linking technology investments to measurable outcomes such as agility, resilience, scalability, cost efficiency, reduced technology debt and speed-to-market
Application Modernization Strategy, Architecture & Planning
Lead application estate assessments covering business criticality, technical health, architecture fit, complexity, dependencies, cost, resilience, scalability and modernization potential
Assess aging and legacy application estates, including non-mainframe legacy applications, to identify technical debt, business risk, modernization constraints and transition priorities
Define application modernization pathways for target applications
Conduct application decomposition and domain analysis to identify modernization boundaries, dependency clusters, migration waves and sequencing options
Shape target application architecture and transition architecture across applications, platforms, integration and data dependencies
Define phased modernization approaches, coexistence models, migration plans and dependency management approaches that protect business continuity
Advice on modernization patterns such as modular architecture, API-led integration, microservices, event-driven architecture, cloud-native enablement, strangler pattern and platform-based modernization
Support data liberation and migration considerations required to reduce dependency on aging systems and enable future-ready application architecture
Develop app modernization roadmaps and value cases aligned to enterprise modernization strategy, architecture direction and business priorities

Role Overview
We are looking for a Technology Modernization Strategy & Architecture leader with deep expertise in enterprise technology modernization, application modernization and modernization-led architecture strategy across all layers of IT landscape including architecture, application, data, AI, cloud, engineering and IT operations.
The role requires a senior consulting practitioner who can engage confidently with CxO and business leadership, shape the modernization value agenda, assess complex technology and application estates, drive target architecture and modernization pathway discussions, and translate business ambition into executable transformation roadmaps and value cases.
The successful candidate will be expected to evaluate complex technology estates, define modern target state, structure initiatives needed to achieve the target state, identify modernization pathways and guide clients through practical, sequenced transformation choices.
The role requires strong executive presence, structured problem solving, deep modernization expertise across IT landscape and the ability to guide senior clients through practical trade-offs across business value, technology debt, cost, risk, resilience, scalability and long-term architecture fit.
