Mainframe CA-ESP Batch Infra
Job Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated CA-ESP Workload Automation Administrator with 3+ years of experience in enterprise job scheduling, workload automation, and production support environments. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in CA-ESP Workload Automation, Linux/Windows Administration, production monitoring, troubleshooting through logs, and incident management using ServiceNow. Candidates with exposure to Mainframe environments (TSO/ISPF) and a solid understanding of High Availability (HA), Resiliency, and Disaster Recovery (DR) concepts will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Workload Automation & Scheduling
Monitor, manage, and support enterprise batch workloads using CA-ESP Workload Automation.
Create, update, and maintain job schedules, calendars, dependencies, and workflows.
Ensure successful execution of critical batch jobs and SLA adherence.
Analyze job failures and perform root cause analysis.
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and business teams for issue resolution.
System Administration
Perform basic to intermediate administration and troubleshooting on Linux and Windows servers.
Monitor system performance, logs, and resource utilization.
Investigate and resolve server-level issues impacting scheduled workloads.
Support routine maintenance activities and deployment activities.
Monitoring &Troubleshooting
Perform production support activities and proactive monitoring of applications and batch processes.
Troubleshoot issues using application, system, and scheduler logs.
Identify recurring incidents and recommend preventive measures.
Manage incidents, service requests, and changes through ServiceNow.
Mainframe Support
Navigate and support activities in Mainframe environments using TSO/ISPF.
Monitor batch job execution and resolve scheduling dependencies involving mainframe applications.
Coordinate with mainframe support teams during incident resolution.
Resiliency & Disaster Recovery
Support business continuity initiatives by ensuring workload resiliency.
Understand and participate in High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) testing activities.
Assist in validating failover and recovery procedures.
Ensure operational readiness for critical business applications.
Documentation &Reporting
Create and maintain operational procedures, runbooks, and support documentation.
Document troubleshooting steps and resolution processes.
Prepare periodic operational reports and SLA metrics.

The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in DB2 database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, database object management, capacity planning, and production support. The role requires hands-on experience in maintaining high availability, ensuring database security, troubleshooting performance issues, and supporting mission-critical mainframe applications in a 24x7 enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities DB2 Database Administration
Administer and maintain DB2 databases on IBM z/OS platforms.
Create and manage database objects including tablespaces, databases, tables, indexes, views, and aliases.
Perform database installations, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities.
Support application development teams with database design and implementation.
Performance Monitoring & Tuning
Monitor database performance and system utilization.
Analyze and optimize SQL queries and access paths.
Identify performance bottlenecks and implement tuning recommendations.
Utilize DB2 performance monitoring tools to ensure optimal system performance.
Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery
Perform backup, recovery, and restoration activities.
Implement and maintain DB2 recovery strategies.
Support disaster recovery (DR) testing and execution.
Ensure database availability and business continuity requirements are met.
Database Maintenance
Execute REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, LOAD, UNLOAD, and related DB2 utilities.
Manage database growth, storage allocation, and capacity planning.
Implement database maintenance schedules and housekeeping activities.
Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues.
Security & Compliance
Manage DB2 security and user access controls.
Implement database auditing and compliance policies.
Ensure adherence to organizational security standards and regulatory requirements.
Production Support
Provide L2/L3 support for production database incidents.
Perform root cause analysis and issue resolution.
Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and mainframe teams.
Support change management, release activities, and deployments.
