What would you do? The Senior Manager – Retirement Services is a strategic leadership role responsible for end to end delivery, governance, and transformation of Retirement Services operations for a US client. This role leads large, multi layered teams across participant level servicing, ensures regulatory compliance, drives operational excellence, and partners closely with client leadership to deliver measurable business outcomes.
The role requires deep domain expertise in Defined Contribution retirement plans, strong people leadership, and a proven ability to manage complex, high risk financial operations at scale.
What are we looking for? • 16–24 years of total experience in US Retirement Services, with deep expertise in Defined Contribution plans.
• Strong experience managing participant level servicing operations at scale.
• Proven track record of leading large, complex teams in a regulated financial services environment.
• Extensive experience in client facing roles, including governance, escalations, and executive reporting.
• Demonstrated ownership of quality, risk, and compliance outcomes for retirement operations.

Preferred Domain Expertise
• Contributions, distributions, rollovers, loan processing, adjustments, and reconciliations
• Plan administration and participant servicing
• Quality assurance and high value transaction oversight
• Regulatory compliance (ERISA, IRS, DOL)
• SOX / SOC1 controls and audit management

Skills & Competencies
• Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior client and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills—written and verbal—with experience presenting to leadership forums.

• Deep understanding of operational governance, risk frameworks, and quality management.

Education & Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications in Retirement Services (e.g., ASPPA) or Risk/Quality disciplines – preferred.

Strategic Leadership & Client Partnership
• Serve as a senior delivery and governance leader for Retirement Services operations supporting a US client.
• Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, providing insights on operational performance, risk trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Drive alignment between client expectations, regulatory requirements, and operational execution.
• Represent the account in executive governance forums, steering committees, and leadership reviews.
Operational Delivery & Excellence
• Own end to end delivery of Retirement Services processes, including participant level transactions, plan administration support, and service operations.
• Ensure consistent achievement of SLAs, KPIs, quality benchmarks, and compliance standards.
• Oversee high risk and high value transactions with strong focus on accuracy, controls, and audit readiness.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost optimization, and client experience.
Risk, Compliance & Quality Management
• Ensure adherence to US regulatory requirements (ERISA, DOL, IRS) and internal control frameworks (SOX, SOC1).
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to strengthen preventive and detective controls.
• Lead root cause analysis for defects, audit findings, and client escalations, ensuring sustainable remediation.
• Maintain strong governance around documentation, evidence management, and issue tracking.
People Leadership & Talent Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers, managers, and team leads across geographies.
• Build a high performance culture focused on accountability, ownership, and continuous learning.
• Drive workforce planning, succession management, and capability building within Retirement Services.
• Coach leaders on stakeholder management, decision making, and client communication.
Transformation & Change Management
• Drive process transformation initiatives, including automation, standardization, and digitization.
• Partner with technology teams on system enhancements, platform migrations, and workflow optimization.
• Lead transitions, migrations, and stabilization of new work or expanded scope.
• Embed best practices and scalable operating models across the Retirement Services portfolio.
